Stooges Brass Band, an incredible funk orchestra barreling through town from New Orleans, headlines Part III of the City Tap & Brooklyn Brewery summer concert series. An 8 piece raging dance party, Stooges hail from the Big Easy and bring the serious horns & brass & funk for one heck of a Saturday afternoon.
New Sound Brass Band will open the show. NSB is a band that brings together a lot of different backgrounds, personalities and traditions. NSB in a way is a folk band meaning that their music reflects the culture we create together and geographic location. While their sound finds its roots in a mixture of mummery, jazz and gospel, it is most fairly understood as Philadelphia spoken through brass and beats.
